BETHESDA, MD -- The Fourth Annual Big Train Base Ball & Auction
will be held on the evening of Sunday, November 17 at the Pooks
Hill Marriott from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be family fun, special
guests, great food, and spectacular sports memorabilia. Do all
your holiday shopping at the Big Train Auction! The auction will
include memorabilia autographed by such sports legends as Hank
Aaron, Mia Hamm, Michael Jordan, and Cal Ripken.
Coach
Hacopian will announce his awards to our most valuable players,
and we will honor several of the volunteers who have made Big
Train baseball such a success. Washington Senators All-Star Chuck
Hinton will be the night's headline guest. We have created something
very special at our Shirley Povich Field. As one of our fans told
our founder, John Ourisman, "When Iım here at a Big Train game,
I feel like I live in a small town."
Whether
it is the first-class baseball right near home, or the kids carrying
the flag to the pitcherıs mound for the National Anthem, or the
quality entertainment and food, or Homer our friendly mascot racing
a young fan around the bases, it all adds up to a wonderful community
experience. 55,000 fans have attended Big Train games at Povich
Field during our first four seasons. Because of this broad-based
community support, we have been able to devote all of the money
raised at our annual November fundraisers to our mission of improving
youth fields.
In
the last two years, we have raised more than $100,000. To learn
more about our "Kids Deserve Better Fields!" campaign, please

showing the breadth of our contributions to improve youth fields.
From Rockville to Anacostia, from Bethesda to Santo Domingo, we
have been working hard to improve the lives of children.
